• Mineral paints - Mineral (silicate-based) paints are used on suitable masonry and mineral substrates such as lime render, stone, and historic brickwork. They form a chemical bond with the surface rather than a surface film, creating a highly breathable, durable finish that is appropriate for many historic façades.
• Limewash and lime-based paints - Applied to lime plaster, soft masonry, and traditional renders, limewash provides a sacrificial, breathable finish that supports the natural movement of historic buildings and allows moisture to evaporate harmlessly.
• Traditional distempers and mineral internal finishes - Used internally where historically appropriate, particularly on older plaster substrates, offering a breathable and authentic decorative finish.
